About Skyhigh PMO

Industry specialists dedicated to optimising your project controls ecosystem

Project controls has never had more tools. Yet on Australian projects, what decides whether a project is in control hasn't changed: a schedule people believe, costs that reconcile, risks that drive decisions, reports that tell one story, and systems that perform efficiently. When those foundations are shaky, a new tool doesn't fix them. It hides them. Our specialists see those foundations as one ecosystem, and help your team get them right and keep them right.

Why we exist

Two ways in, one way of staying

Starting out?

New to Primavera, setting up a project controls tool for the first time, or standing up a P6 for a joint venture? We set it up right from day 1: the structure, standards and guardrails that stop problems before they start.

See how a new P6 starts right

Already running?

Been using it for years? We start by finding out what is really holding you back, then fix what matters most, with a solution sized to the problem. Simple problems get simple fixes, and if you do not need us, we say so.

See the diagnostic

Either way, you'll want us to stay.

There's no lock-in, and nothing stopping you leaving. Clients stay because of the service: a crew that already knows their setup, a written note after every change, and problems fixed before they cost a project. That's what a pit crew is for.

Founder's note

Why I started Skyhigh PMO

I've spent 18 years in Primavera and project controls, most of them here in Australia. Over those years I've seen the same pattern on project after project. When project controls struggle, it is rarely for lack of tools. It is because the foundations were never set up properly, or have drifted since: a schedule nobody trusts, a system that has slowed to a crawl, standards that only one person understands. Fixing those is not glamorous work. It is the work that decides whether a project is in control.

Skyhigh PMO is built around that work. We keep the team small and experienced on purpose, so the people who understand your problem are the people who solve it, and so we can stay close to every client.

Again and again, people in this industry trusted me with bigger work before I had proved I could do it, and my career grew because of it. Those chances shaped me, and I haven't forgotten them.

Skyhigh is also my way of paying those chances forward. Across Australia, practitioners are quietly building tools that solve problems they live with every day. When their work is good, we want to help it reach the projects that need it. Hidden until D17

If your project controls need a strong start, a proper fix or a steady pair of hands, I'd like to hear from you.

What we believe

Six things we hold to

Start right

Starting right is cheaper than fixing later, and fixing is cheaper than living with it.

Fundamentals

The fundamentals decide whether a project is in control.

Diagnose first

You cannot fix what you have not diagnosed.

Right-sized

Most problems are smaller than the solutions being sold for them.

Ownership

Ownership drives standardisation. A system only stays right if someone owns it.

Problem solvers

The people who live a problem are often the best placed to solve it.

Mission and vision

Start right, set it right, keep it right

Vision. Every major project in Australia runs on a project controls ecosystem its people can rely on.

Mission. Help Australian organisations delivering major projects start right, set it right and keep it right: project controls foundations they can trust, delivered by an experienced team with solutions sized to the problem.

Values

What we stand for, and what we will not do

Foundations first

Set up or fix what the project stands on before adding anything new. We will not sell a new tool to cover a broken setup.

Right-sized

The solution fits the problem, and we tell you when you do not need us. We will not stretch a small fix into a programme.

Hands-on expertise

Our team works hands-on in your system, not just advising on it. We will not sell with seniors and deliver with juniors.

Straight talk

Plain findings, honest advice, and we say when we resell a product. We will not hide what we gain from a recommendation.

Back the problem solvers

Give capable people and good Australian ideas a real chance. We will not take credit for what others built.

Our experience

From Karratha to Queenstown

Our experience spans project teams in every Australian state, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, in capital cities, regional centres and remote sites. Each orange dot marks a place where we have helped a team plan and control its work.

Every one of those places taught us something: a reporting standard that worked, a configuration that didn't, an upgrade that went wrong and how to stop it going wrong again. We have seen those problems from every side, and we bring that well-rounded experience to your team and put it to work on your system from the first week.

Phase 2

How we work

Small and experienced, on purpose

A small team of experienced specialists, hands-on in your system from the first call to the last fix, and close enough to know your setup by name.

What you can expect

  • Diagnosis before any fix. We find out what is actually going on before anyone pays for a solution.
  • A solution sized to the problem. Simple problems get simple fixes, and we tell you when you do not need us.
  • Straight talk. Findings in plain words, and we say when we resell a product.
  • Based in Melbourne, working across Australia.

Australian problem solvers

We give Australian problem solvers a stage

Some of the best ideas in project controls are being built by practitioners here, people who live these problems every day. Once the foundations are sound, we help the right tools reach the projects that need them.
